A comparison of ancient tree tea and terrace tea

The industry generally believes that tea trees over 100 years old are ancient tea trees, and the tea leaves made of them are called ancient tree teas.
Since the last century, in order to make Pu-erh tea larger and more convenient to harvest, Yunnan has opened up many large-scale tea gardens. The tea leaves processed from them are what we now call Terrace tea.

From the perspective of the main constituents with transformational value in tea, there is a significant difference between the ancient tree tea of ‚Äč‚Äčarbor and the tea in the tea garden.

Endogenous substance: The ancient tree tea has deep roots, sufficient organic nutrients for absorption, and thick leaf buds; and some of them are picked only once a year, and occasionally two times (spring tip, valley flower), so the ingredients are rich. Terrace tea is picked many times a year, and its nutrition is weak, and its internal quality is relatively poor and weak.

Charm: The taste of the ancient tree tea is mellow, and you can feel a breath from the mountains and mountains. The bitterness of the bitterness makes the mouth grow, and the flavor stays in the mouth and throat for a long time. The performance of qi is also gradually reflected, and the index of human comfort is high. However, the thickness of the tea and the taste of the tea left in the mouth are short, the watering is not obvious, and the flavor is short-lived. The Chen tea also contains relatively few ingredients and is released quickly, and the human body is not comfortable.

Potential: Due to the deep roots of the ancient tree tea, it can absorb the rich nutrients in the deep soil layer, so that the buds and leaves have a high content, and there is a large space for the transformation of manufactured products in the future. Platform tea is rooted in the superficial layer of the soil, and is frequently picked. The buds and leaves contain relatively small amounts of ingredients, and the conversion space of its finished products is limited.

Safety: Ancient tree tea does not need to use pesticides and fertilizers, and can be regarded as the most ecological tea drink. Terrace tea is grown in inorganic form, using pesticides and fertilizers, and has problems such as pesticide residues.
When drinking tea, we can generally distinguish whether the tea is an ancient tree tea or a Terrace tea from the following aspects:

Appearance: The leaves of the ancient tree tea are relatively strong, the texture of the leaf leather is obvious, the veins are clear, the edges of the leaves are irregular, and the back of the leaves is less. The platform tea is a cultivated type. The leaf body is relatively thin, the skirt of the leaf is wavy, the tooth edge of the leaf is regular, and the back of the leaf is hairy.

Loquat aroma: The aroma of the ancient tree tea is deep and thick, and the stay time is long. The aroma of terrace tea flutters and is short-lived.

Taste: The ancient tree tea will bring rich taste, the fine density and mellow thickness of the tea soup are high, and the penetration is smooth. On the other hand, terrace tea makes people feel thin and sometimes mixed. The penetration of tea soup is astringent, which makes it difficult to make the root of the tongue feel comfortable. Although the mouth feels domineering, the bitterness is heavier than ancient tea.

Leaf bottom: The leaves of the ancient tree tea have good stretch, hypertrophy and elasticity, and good flexibility. Platform tea is not easy to spread, and the texture is thin and crunchy.

However, due to human factors, there is also a phenomenon that makes the difference between ancient tree tea and Terrace tea difficult to grasp.

For example, some terrace teas also have good nutrients and good climate due to adequate fertilizer and water, and the leaves are very swollen. Some ancient teas have little artificial management, allowing them to grow naturally and sometimes the leaves are thin. In addition, the artificially over-picked ancient tree tea will also cause the photosynthesis of the ancient tea leaves department to have fewer leaves and shrinkage of the roots, and the tea greens picked will be different.
